Flea Treatments and Leather

Posted on January 4th, 2016

We receive at least one enquiry every week about problems caused by dog flea treatments which have damaged the finish on leather furniture.
The leading brands of flea treatments all contain a strong solvent which, when it comes into contact with leather, will dissolve the finish and remove the colour of the leather. Not only this, but it soaks into the leather and will continue to attack the leather from the inside.
